Moufida Fedhila examine et questionne les contradictions inhérentes à ce tiers espace.
En 2007, elle procède à une intervention in situ en peignant en blanc sur le sol : NOT IN MY BACK YARD. La phrase au sol devient une limite, une frontière. Elle renvoie à un mouvement américain du même nom dont l’objectif est s’assurer les intérêts (privés comme publics) et la sécurité du groupe. Si au départ les citoyens se sont rassemblés pour contrer des politiques agressives, intrusives et nuisibles (immobilier, commercial etc.) afin de préserver des quartiers qui conservent un visage humain, les activités du mouvement connaissent aujourd’hui des dérives liées à l’immigration. S’ils acceptent la construction d’un projet nuisible autour de chez eux, ils vont refuser que des immigrés puissent y travailler. D’un côté, ils ne veulent pas d’étrangers près de chez eux, mais de l’autre, ces mêmes étrangers gardent leurs enfants, tondent leurs pelouses, font leur ménage etc.. Encore une fois l’hypocrisie et le non-sens s’immiscent insidieusement dans une dialectique humaine et matérielle.

Moufida Fedhila examines and questions the contradictions inherent to this third space.
In 2007, she conducts an in-situ intervention by painting in white on the ground: NOT IN MY BACK YARD. The sentence on the ground becomes a limit, a boundary. It refers to a US movement of the same name, which aims to ensure the interests (private and public) and safety of the group. If initially, citizens gathered to counter aggressive, intrusive and harmful policies (real estate, commercial etc.) in order to preserve neighborhoods with a human face, the movement's activities are undergoing drifts related to immigration. If they accept the construction of a harmful project in their neighborhood, they will refuse allowing immigrants to work there. On one hand, they do not want strangers near them, but on the other, these same foreigners sit their children, mow their lawns, take care of their household etc… Again hypocrisy and nonsense insidiously interfere in human and material dialectics.
